Cargill is currently recruiting workers for their Sanitation Labourer positions in Spruce Grove, AB.

  • Shift(s) Available: Night Shift
  • Salary Rate: $22.99 CAD / hour

Job Description

To maintain the facility in a state of optimum cleanliness and to ensure requirements are followed for efficient operation. 

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the production floor and surrounding area.
  • Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely to clean production floors, ceilings, walls, and equipment/machinery.
  • Be responsible for lock out tag out, dismantling, cleaning and sanitizing of production machines as required in accordance with master sanitation schedule and standard operating procedure.
  • Adhere to cleaning procedures in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices Standards and Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Collect and dispose of waste and recyclable materials from production area.
  • Perform specialized cleaning procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable legislative and Cargill safety, health and safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Standard shift is 11:30pm – 5:30am but start and end times may vary.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada. 
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old.
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 40lbs, kneeling, climbing, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to understand and communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous Sanitation Experience
  • Previous Production Experience
  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • comfortable working with sanitizing agents and chemicals.
  • Have strong attention to detail and are able to meet cleanliness standards set by the company.
  • Like working in a fast-paced environment, be self-reliant, and be energized by opportunities to learn and grow.
  • Be able to perform highly physical work.
  • Understand constructive feedback as an opportunity to listen, and improve your skills, abilities, and performance.
  • No attendance issues. 
  • Must be a team player.
